We are honored to recognize Penn alumnus Alp Ercil, whose extraordinary $10 million gift established Penn Climate. This visionary effort will work across all 12 Schools at Penn, along with leading interdisciplinary centers, offices, and other Penn institutions, to accelerate solutions to one of the defining challenges of our time: the climate crisis. “I am thrilled to help advance this work, accelerate innovation, and strengthen Penn’s role at the forefront of this field,” says Ercil.

A 1995 graduate of the Wharton and Penn Engineering dual degree Management and Technology Program and founder of Asia Research and Capital Management, Ercil has been a dedicated volunteer and supporter of the University for decades. His generosity will serve as a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and global impact in climate science, policy, and action.
