Penn faculty positively impacting and engaging with our communities: local, national, and global
MARK ALAN HUGHES is a Professor of Practice at PennDesign, Faculty Director of the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy and a Lead Investigator at the DOE's Energy Efficient Buildings Hub at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
In his editorial, Professor Hughes invites collaboration and contribution at planned public hearings as a result of the Philadelphia Oil Refinery explosion. He adds, "I do not control the speaking list, but my mandate is to identify people who have things to say that the City should hear. As other members of the advisory group advocate for voices from their communities, I feel a responsibility to do so with mine in the most transparent and inclusive way I know."
