Undergraduate Education at Penn
Penn is home to a diverse undergraduate student body, with nearly 12,000 students from every U.S. state and many countries around the world.
The diversity of Penn’s students is mirrored in the wide range of vibrant cultural centers and the diversity of academic opportunities at our four undergraduate schools:
College of Arts and Sciences
School of Engineering & Applied Science
School of Nursing
Wharton School
Penn is committed to making the creation and understanding of new knowledge central to the undergraduate experience, providing opportunities for undergraduates to apply knowledge in ways that benefit the public good.
The university provides undergraduates with the unique opportunity of partnerships between the College and professional schools, including joint degree and other interschool programs that integrate a liberal arts education with professional training.
In these and other undergraduate programs, students pursue original research with world-renowned scholars and scientists and apply their learning to environments beyond the campus. Students also experience critical learning experiences in Penn’s College Houses, which serve as microcosms of the University’s intellectual variety and strengths.
