Cosponsoring Events with PFWFGE
The Penn Forum for Women Faculty and Gender Equity supports a variety of events through financial and in-kind cosponsorship and seeks to collaborate on programming in support of its mission. PFWFGE’s mission is to build an inclusive community of women, gender nonconforming, nonbinary and trans scholars and their allies that enriches the university by advocating for policies and practices that promote gender equity; creating opportunities for education, professional skill-building, networking, and cross-school and cross-disciplinary interactions; providing advice to Penn’s administration on matters of significance to gender equity; enhancing Penn’s visibility as a welcoming community for faculty who are women, gender nonconforming, nonbinary, or trans; engaging with prominent scholars and colleagues at other institutions to identify best practices for enhancing gender equity; and developing initiatives and programming to share with faculty nationwide.
There are several categories for cosponsorship with PFWFGE:
- Event of Shared Interest: PFWFGE can send event announcements to our mailing list of women faculty at Penn by classifying an event as an “Event of Interest.”
- Simple Cosponsorship: PFWFGE can cosponsor an event planned by another organization with a financial cap of $300 to be used toward speaker fees, space or catering; PFWFGE would be considered a cosponsor of that event in advertising and would advertise the event to its mailing lists.
- Collaborative Cosponsorship: PFWFGE can work collaboratively to plan and execute an event from start to finish and both groups would be considered cosponsors of the event and share in any related costs and advertising.
- Flexible Option: PFWFGE can consider other cosponsorship requests on an individual basis.
All requests for cosponsorship can be sent to forum@pobox.upenn.edu with details of the event, the type of cosponsorship request, and how the event fits with PFWFGE’s mission.
