Penn Association of Senior and Emeritus Faculty Who We Are

PASEF is the organization of and for senior and retired faculty at the University of Pennsylvania. Founded in 2004, it encourages members to maintain continued connections among themselves and with the intellectual and social life of the University. PASEF offers a robust program of lectures, discussions, social functions and excursions that provide fellowship and interaction among members and with the scholarly community on campus; familiarizes members (especially those planning retirement) with issues relating to retirement processes, benefits and retired life, including living options; and facilitates opportunities for members to render service to the University and its surrounding community.

PASEF operates under a set of bylaws and is governed by an elected Council that meets monthly during the academic year. It is supported by the Office of the Provost and reports to the Vice Provost for Faculty. It is a member organization of the Association of Retirement Organizations in Higher Education (AROHE). At the University, PASEF actively collaborates with ASEF-PSOM, the Association of Senior and Emeritus Faculty at the Perelman School of Medicine, through jointly planned and/or shared events and representation on the respective Councils.
