Andrew Binns, Vice Provost for Education

The Office of the Vice Provost for Education oversees educational programs and University-wide educational policies that govern teachers and students at Penn.  Working closely with the Provost, the Vice Provost for University Life, and other senior administrators, the Vice Provost creates opportunities for interdisciplinary learning that cut across schools and programs, foster and study cultural diversity, and encourage teaching excellence and research-based learning in all educational programs.

Ezekiel Emanuel, Vice Provost for Global Initiatives

The Office of the Vice Provost for Global Initiatives partners with all twelve Schools to chart strategic directions for global engagement at Penn and facilitate collaborations among all the offices involved in global engagement on campus.  The Office and its reporting offices provide important services in support of Penn’s global endeavors, including academic year study abroad, immigration services for international students and operational and compliance support for international projects.

With awards in excess of $925 million, Penn’s research enterprise encompasses a broad spectrum of research support services, regulatory bodies, multi-disciplinary campus-wide centers and institutes, and partnerships to further develop investigator inventions.

The Office of Faculty Affairs facilitates every stage of a faculty member's life at Penn, from appointment through post-retirement. It manages appointments and promotions; supports University initiatives to enhance faculty recruitment and retention; provides resources, policies, and information; collaborates with peer institutions on important initiatives for faculty; works closely with the Faculty Senate and other senior leaders across the university; and advances Penn’s commitment to gender and minority equity for faculty.

H. Carton Rogers III, Vice Provost and Director of Libraries

The Penn Libraries, with six million printed volumes and a digital collection equivalent to millions more, are a prominent scholarly resource composed of 15 units on Penn's campus, as well as the nearby Heritage Collection and the Library of the Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies.  Penn's students and faculty annually draw more than 300,000 items from the print collections and download in excess of five million journal articles from the electronic sources.
