During the 2013 David and Lyn Silfen University Forum, Penn President Amy Gutmann moderated a panel of experts including Thomas L. Friedman, Martha J. Kanter, William E. Kirwan, and Daphne Koller, who discussed how free online courses may affect higher education in the United States, as well as communities across the globe.
Edward Rock, Saul A. Fox Distinguished Professor of Business Law in the Law School, is Senior Advisor to the President and Provost and Director of Open Learning Initiatives. In that role, he leads the University’s partnership with Coursera, and tries to figure out how MOOCs will change higher education.
